Facebook's popular messaging app WhatsApp for iPhone was updated over the weekend with long-overdue support for animated GIFs.

Who GIFs a crap! I simply don't get the attraction to what is essentially an electronic version of the old paper flip-book but using an image format that should have been abandoned a decade ago.

I had the same problem and I accidentally found it. When you do the 3D touch and peek / pop appears, move the pic to the top, the options will fly up from the bottom.

Aha! That's a rather well hidden feature, cheers.

Existing gif files still not working, however...

Everytime this app is updated I hope Apple Watch support will be added. Sadly I doubt it will ever happen.
Me the same but expecting that they add the possibility of sending messages without an active conection (as viber, telegram or wechat do). It's frustrating for me that for example I enter to an elevator, my 4g reception is gone and I can't send messages. In telegram you can continue writing and sending them and they stay with the clock and are released when you recover signal.

It works flawlessly for me on an iPhone 6 - this is copying and pasting saved gifs from my library in the GIFwrapped app.

Surprising to hear Whatsapp isn't supported on Apple Watch!
