Whatsapp last seen timestamp OFF not working!

I have this turned off, but it is still showing my last seen online time. This is appearing on an android - is that the reason why? Will my last seen timestamp not show on other iPhones?

When did you turn it off? Takes up to 24 hours apparently. I've never verified that actually works though, I assume it should.

Yes, it has been turned off for weeks! I cannot see anybody else's last online status
