WhatsApp not making alerts?

any one else have this?

My watch vibrates but the phone doesn't light up or make a sound.

It's not on silent and I've rebooted

If the notification goes to your watch then your phone won't do anything

But that never happened before.

I've my watch on silent so that I hear notifications on my phone. It's weird
