Whatsapp on new iphone

so i smashed my old iphone up, finally get a new one, set it up and... All my chats from whatsapp have disappeared

Is there any way i can back up these chats and get them on my new iphone???

If you have iCloud setup on your phone, and your chats were backed up - then iCloud should restore the backups - make sure iCloud is enabled on your new phone.

I never set up icloud when i originally got my phone, is it to late?

Your backups won't be on iCloud then. You could try restoring from your iTunes backup perhaps?

thats what i did.. but non of its there :s very frustrating, lots of things i am losing if i can get that back
