I was speaking about MacRumors.

Oh, I am sure WhatsApp will continue just like they are doing now. Facebook has never had an issue, regardless of what they do or not do.

I can share one thing, don't have any connections or accounts to/on Facebook/Meta or their companies. Also block all connections to Facebook at the browser level since they track you across the Internet. There are many ways, like using Little Snitch etc. It isn't hard to do. I am not building a wall or moat for everything, just talking about Meta/Facebook here.

Many people I have talked to, do not even know that Facebook/Meta has anything to do with WhatsApp. They are shocked to find out since they don't want anything to do with them but are using them for communication all the time and don't even realize it. Then after they find out... they keep using it anyway.
I misunderstood. I apologize. I am not that different. Aside from using WhatsApp, which I have little or no choice about because of family and how much time I spend overseas, I also have zero social media accounts other than comments here. I keep my contributions to Meta's revenue streams and anyone else's as small as possible. I use available tools to clean any traces from my devices. It's not just Meta. It is all of them. My footprint everywhere is as small as is possible and when a a tiny footprint or no footprint renders a resource unusable then I don't use it.

No problem, understood. :) WhatsApp has a real stranglehold over people for that very reason. I know many that are in your shoes.

I do the same with Google, even though I have several Gmail accounts (since the very beginning when everyone thought Google was awesome) and many YouTube accounts I am responsible for, for work. For this stuff, I always use a separate browser that I only use for those purposes and/or companies.

I always take Snowden's approach, never give them (NSA and others, corporations that were setup by gov/agencies or others etc.) important info on a silver platter. If they want it, they are going to have to work for it. Just a basic rule of thumb.
