who still uses an iPhone 5 anyway? I got rid of mine to buy an iPhone 8 Plus.

I'd still have my iPhone 8 Plus if I did not trade it in thru ATT upgrade and ATT lost my trade in phone.

But still using an iPhone 5? yikes.

Small phone to fit in your pocket but very out dated
Bit ironic the owner of an iPhone 8 -surfboard edition calling something very outdated. At least the 5 was cutting edge and highly desirable once, whereas the 8 plus was a total joke, dated, ugly massive phone with huge bezels which was the laughing stock when it was dead on arrival back in 2017

You'd be surprised how many people are still using phones from 5 to 10 years ago. "It just works"
I’d be surprised how many people like to hurt themselves you mean.
It was a great device but it just works awfully slow now.
Since they won’t be able to use any relevant Apple service anyway it might be better to use a cheap android phone for WA.

They just want to make phone calls, send txt, and perhaps snap some photos. Old iOS and Android phones shouldn't have an issue with such functionality

When is this going to happen?

I have an old i6 I used for backup/ have to share its # when I do not wish to give personal number to vendors/ telemarketing database build up kinda places.

I am getting the Whatsapp has expired - Update/ Upgrade - When I do it, just shows OPEN, instead of Update on the AppStore.

They don’t. There are working phone, messages and camera apps preinstalled but don’t expect a third party app to still be compatible.
