right?

from what I remember, that's how it went down. The advertising for the WWDC that year suggested the focus was in iOS.

This year, it says on the banner 'let's talk iphone'. I don't think they would mention iphone, if it were only a speed bump.

we're getting a redesign!
this 4s stuff is steve jobs playing his cards right .....try to make everyone think there's no redesign, then come out with a kick ass iphone5...the suprise would be that much better.

The iPhone 3G and 3Gs got released at WWDC and the iPhone 2G got presented is greater detail. It became Apple's rutione to show off the new iPhone at WWDC.

I can't see Apple ever not doing a presentation. It's part of what drives that "gotta have it" mentality. They present the phone today and then give you two weeks (or so) to fawn over it while you battle whether or not to pre-order. Then you break down and blow the rainy day fund on a new iPhone.

So true.
