It has not been announced officially by Apple. The speculated dates is for the Key Note on September 6th, with the iPhone preorder on September 9th. This according to Evan Blass, with Macrumors posting the article.

Announcement should be Wednesday Sept 7th because of Labor Day on Monday the 5th. They typically push back the event by one day on weeks that have a holiday. With a 9/7 event, we should see pre-order on 9/9 or 9/10, with the launch on 9/16. If the event is 9/7, then invitations will probably go out sometime between 8/29-8/31.
