Just wondering that with all the press about Apple making huge efforts to better its Maps application and dedicate specific teams and even some employees to help verify info and correct mistakes, will these strategies result in a totally new version of Maps (Maps 1.1 for example) that we will download as a software update? Or, will we just magically start seeing improvements in locations/stores/routes/buildings etc, but never see an actual software update for it? Thanks guys, and sorry for most of you overseas it seems that are having the most trouble with them. I live in Baltimore, Maryland and used the GPS turn by turn yesterday; far more accurate than my Garmin in terms of traffic, destination times, and alternate routes for fastest arrival. I was loving it, but just my 2 cents.

Some of it comes in the form of OS updates, some will be backed updates. That's they way it worked throughout the betas.

The updates you're talking about (locations of stuff) will happen bit by bit instantly. The phone accesses servers to get new data when you search for something so that could change day by day.

There will also be software changes, I'm sure, but those will be things like 'where buttons are' which aren't the kind of changes people are complaining about wanting.

Thanks so much for the quick responses! That's great to hear about the "instant responses" in terms of locations and general accuracy of the program. And knowing Apple's Mr. Cook, I'm sure we will be getting an open letter to let us know just how much work they have put into this and telling us to try the Maps again and the classic "and I think you're really going to love it as much as we do" haha. thanks guys
