A woman from apple said that there were no plans at the moment for a new line of macbooks/MBPs that she knew of when i questioned her about whether i should buy a new macbook now, or wait. She did seem to know about the iPod, though, as when i asked her she said she didnt comment on rumours:p

i guess it depends with intel right?
there will be new processors out during the first quarter of 2008. i was thinking prob speed bumps sometime around then? maybe during the apple event? who knows? the new platform Montevina http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Centrino#Santa_Rosa_platform_.282007.29 will be released second quarter of 2008. so im guessing prob around similar time of when santa rosa got bumped apple will bump their laptops to montevina. who knows though. seems with the new iMacs apple recieved the x7900 processor earlier than it was released to everyone else. im waiting till apple updates their laptops with this new platform 1066FSB :D:D:D:D, support of 800mhz DDR3 or DDR2 and 6MB L2 CACHE :D:D:D:D

this is the list of when the new procs will be released according to intel. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_future_Intel_Core_2_microprocessors#.22Penryn_XE.22_.28standard-voltage.2C_45_nm.29

heres more information on intel procs http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_Next_Generation_Microarchitecture#Future_products
