When are we going to see 1.83s shipping?

I know that my order is not able to cancel and that my credit card has a pending charge for the amount of the computer, but how long until they ship?

Anyone who got a 2.0, how long after your credit card was pending did it take to ship?
 
I'm pleased to see that you can't cancel. When did you order?

I can still cancel my 1.83. I'm starting to think academic orders are at the end of line, regardless.
 
Well I ordered the 1.83, can no longer cancel and also have a pending charge on my account. I ordered from the edu store too. Called apple today to ask about the charge, since it had been there since saturday; they said that it was just ANOTHER pre-auth. When I asked him when it would ship he just quoted me back my shipdate of 2/28. Whatever happened to the "supposed" shipping this week (and I know its only tuesday yet); but I really hope thats the case. Knowing my bad luck itll get delivered the day after spring break starts and ill have to wait another week to get at it.
 
I know what you mean about the quoted dates. Sorry, but I'm tired of the "estimated shipping dates." The first time around I believed them, but with the delay, I no longer know what to think. Is it shipping this week/ next week or are we talking March? My new date is March 8th, but with all the early shipments thus far, it seems almost random.

And what's with the reports of 1.83's for sale at Apple stores? You'd think they'd fulfill the pre- orders first.

When did you guys order?
 
1/19; I know, rather late compared to most of the people here, but still early enough to have the initial Feb. 15th shipdate.
 
I wonder how accurate the "first- come - first - serve" is anyway. Seems there have been plenty exceptions with the recent deliveries.

Maybe I'm wrong though.
 
I ordered my 1.67 (now 1.83) MBP on January 10th, 2006 in the early evening.

I used the academic discount and got a shipping date of February 15th and a delivery date of February 23rd.

After the speed bump on the 15th, my shipping date was bumped to February 23rd and delivery was bumped to March 2nd.

Unfortunately, it still hasn't shipped. 🙁

Sorry, but I don't know if I've been charged because it's on my parent's credit card (I'm a student and I used my parent's card to buy it). Last time I asked my dad said they haven't been charged, but that was a couple weeks ago.

I am still able to cancel. 🙂
 
Just talked to Apple, they said they wont charge my card(s) until the MBP ships.
I thought that was rather odd.

That's not uncommon. Most of my Previous orders didn't see an "actual" charge until a couple days after it shipped
 
YEEEEESSSS!!!!!

Just checked my online order status, and my MacBook 1.83ghz cannot be cancelled! I then fervently went to my bank site to see if my card has been charged, and it was!! Never been so happy to see funds depleted from my account. Hopefully my MacBook will be on a plane departing Shanghai this evening or the next!

Just to quickly point out the semi-obvious, you actually quoted toneloco2881 saying his was a MacBook(pro) 1.83ghz. 😉
 
Shipped today

My macbook 1.83 with 2x512MB shipped today!!!! I ordered it 1/10 at 7:23pm pst. I was cheap and got the free shipping, but they say it will only take 5 days for it to get from China to Florida. 😀
 
My stock 1.83ghz MBP ordered at 11:36am PST on January 10th has not yet shipped, and my credit card has not yet been charged, but I can no longer cancel the order.
