Here is a description of my network for as much detail as possible:
DSL modem is hardwired to one Airport Extreme G version;
AEBS-1 is WDS linked to AEBS-2 at the other end of the house;
Hardwired to AEBS-2 is my AEBS N version for my MBP's own network;
USB drive is connected to the N router;
All the other computers (2 Gateway laptops, 3 PC desktops) all run G and I wanted the N speed for backing up Time Machine to my Airdisk.
I have TWO NETWORKS set up, the N hardwired off the G.
The problem is that when I backup the internet for all computers slows to a crawl.
It's obviously not the internet itself because as soon as the backup is done the speed returns. When we type in the IP address of the modem it takes forever to load so it's obviously the network slowing.
Why is the backup affecting ALL (both networks) computers' network speed?
If anyone has a solution to have 2 networks and still be able to print to ONE printer from both, please help!
