Because the richest company in the world can't afford to have more than 5 different laptops in the showroom or what?

If they would have updated the Air with a better screen, I wouldn't have suggested dropping the Air. It just seems that they have no interest in putting a decent screen on the Air (I'm not talking Retina, even an IPS panel would be an improvement), or making any real improvements to it.

Not only that, but the MacBook really seems to be out of place price-wise compared to the MBP. They really need to move it down the price scale and it wouldn't make sense having the Air and the MB at the same price. In 2018, the rMB should be Apple's entry level laptop. It really is the new Air in my mind...

1. Dump the useless headphone out for another USB-C connector and make it TB3 to boot!
There is not enough thermal capacity to add the chipset to support TB-3. I agree a second USB-C port would be nice.

I like the current design so I’m not that bothered about a redesign, however I would like to see a 14” version of the Macbook similar to how the MacBook Air had two versions of 11” and 13” the price of the 12” MacBook could then be dropped and higher specs for the 14” MacBook made available.

It would be great to see a 14" version that could fully replace the current 13" Air. I'd buy it instantly. Hopefully with 2 TB3 ports.

I'm the opposite with iMac, I have the original iMac that I used at university for my degree but you know what - it's never used because it's a desktop - it just sits in the corner of a room looking retro :) My MacBook fits into my life.
The iMac wasn't good though as half way through my degree, the hard drive failed and I lost my half written dissertation plus it cost £200 to replace the harddrive at the time for a 18 month old iMac. I was young, I think I was ripped off by the store!
On a plus note, the iMac has NEVER been updated or connected to the internet so it still runs as fast as day one :) :) :) - that's one computer that Apple WILL NEVER knowingly slow down :) Yes, I beat the system :)

So Ellen Feiss.

I'd like to see a better keyboard. I know it was just redesigned but after 6 months with the latest MB, it still feels odd to type on. Every time I go back to the MacBook Air, the keyboard feels just right.
For me it's the other way round: It took me a few weeks to get used to the keyboard on my 2015 rMB, but ever since I feel that the (2013) rMBP keys are too small, wobbly and unprecise in comparison. Not sure I'd appreciate the redesign, in case I'd like to upgrade to a newer rMB.
