iPhone 17 Pro Max When did you last drop your iPhone, and how did it fare?

Used to drop my 17 Pro 2-3 times per week using the Apple TechWoven case. Since changing to a UAG Civilian case, I have probably dropped it 1-2 times in 3 months.

The phone is still in pristine condition with no scrapes, scratches or dents because I also use a high quality tempered glass screen protector.

It sits snuggly into a Mous case - yes they're pricey - but they work so well as my 17 has survived a few hard falls onto concrete and inside my home with hardwood floors!

I dropped my 15PM 3 times onto concrete asphalt three times. The case protected the phone and I replaced the screen protector twice. At the third drop I’m living with some damage to the screen protector.

Last time I dropped my Air was on the rug last month, so not much. I have dropped my Air on my concrete driveway twice (no case once, Pitaka case the other time) and it is flawless other than a nick and scuff in the titanium. That same driveway broke my 13 Pro and 15 Pro screens, so Ceramic Shield 2 amazes me.

Also, I dropped this thing down a flight of stairs onto a hardwood floor (real wood) last year and it did not sustain any damage.

Same, I’ve dropped my Air several times and even drop-kicked it into a wall accidentally. Had to patch the wall. Phone is fine.

Someone else actually dropped my phone. I was in the hospital in August of ‘22. I wasn’t using a case at the time and had it charging wirelessly. A careless nurse came in and bumped it, sending it off the charger and onto the tile floor. No cracks, but the battery life was borked. Filed a claim with Verizon and they took care of it. Ever since then I’ve used a case, and now I can’t imagine going without one.

Last week I dropped my 17PM out of my SUV door when it opened. It hit the ground on the corner and the screen visibly cracked in the corner and the complete front cracked top to bottom but was hard to see without light shining across the screen. I could feel the cracks as well. It’s just been replaced under apple care express replacement. I’ve literally just finished sorting all of my apps and will send the broken one back on Monday.

I can't remember the last time I dropped it, but it's never been an issue because I ALWAYS have a case on my iPhone. I remember dropping my iPhone 15 Pro Max about a month after I bought it. I dropped it in the parking lot so it hit the pavement. I remember it picking up right away and seeing the damage to my case and thinking that I would be freaked out if I didn't have a case and that damage was on my iPhone.

I dropped the air so many times , the little phone is a tank! Holding its cosmetic beauty better than my 17 pro max I tell you that lol.

I don't drop mine very often, but it does happen. Last month it fell off my home computer desk and hit the desks leg. This shattered the one corner of the screen protector. I use a case, so no other damage.

Dropped my iphone air about 3 weeke ago while laying on my couch after work. It hit tiled floor pretty good and i was afraid it would be damaged, but i cant find any damage to the sides, back, or front. Very very impressed. I dont use any case, just a screen protector

Dropped my air straight down on pea stone, face down. Not a single mark on it. Thing is phenomenal.

I think the 3rd or 4th time my iPhone 16 PM fell out of pocket to concrete is the time it hit just right (wrong) and I needed to replace the screen under AC+ warranty.

I've since been using a more robust (bulky) Otterbox case.

With older, smaller phones, they fit and stayed in shirt pocket better. Those days are long gone, especially with a PM in Otterbox case. Now I carry in back pocket and often sit on it. Or leave it on my work desk when I walk to the restroom.

It bounced a bit, but with the Apple silicone case, it sustained no damage!

It was weeks ago. It dropped out of my pocket at home while I was sitting on the couch, only my ugreen ring stand came off but the case is still intact.

You're probably right about grip. Here is how I hold my iPhone 11PM and iPhone 5. Note, I am right handed, but I hold my phone in my left hand and use my right hand for touching/swiping. Yes, I use all my phones with two hands no matter the size. Anyway…

I tend to hold towards the bottom of the phone. I have found that making sure my pinky finger is under the bottom edge and my index finger directly on the back of the device gives me stability, grip and control. Trying to hold on to a round side phone just by gripping the sides is one reason I've dropped phones.

Also, since I do not use cases and my phones either are in phone holders or flat on my desk/table, flat sides are easier to pick up. With rounded sides I have to make sure I get a good grip before picking up. This thread is about drops, and I've dropped more rounded side phones trying to pick them up then I have ever dropped a phone with flat sides.
