I certainly am. I have small wrists but I’ll either try an Ultra 2, or open- box Ultra if the Ultra 2 isn’t a significant upgrade. I love my S8 but perhaps I can have two Apple Watches 😀. You have the Ultra right?
No, I tried it, but ultimately went with the S8. I did like the Ultra a lot, especially the bright screen, but my budget is a bit constrained right now, so I decided I needed the money to spend on the Mac mini I mentioned in my other post. I really do hope that bright screen comes to the regular watches at some point, it's so much easier to read!

I was hooked. I updated to the watchOS 10 Beta and it changed the watch in such a way that I don't really like using it other for collecting health data. I haven't worn it recently but from time to time I attempt to click the action button of my Ultra for a flashlight, only to find it not on my wrist.

I’m in the minority. I like it, so much as my iphone doesn’t have to be near me all day long. Not very functional, I will use the iPhone. In fact, I’m disappointed that the apps on the Iwatch can’t function without the iPhone nearby. I would think that I can use my Remote Car Starter app to unlock or start my car anywhere since I have a cellular watch, but nope. Same with opening / closing the garage door using Chamberlain’s MyQ app. Sorry.

I have never owned an Apple Watch and likely never will. And I am an Apple user since 2002.

I have an iPhone and an old-school analog watch on my wrist. My watch has the time and day on it—thats it. What else could I possibly need? I am certainly not gadget obsessed enough or fixated on countless notifications or whatever to need one.

I don’t do selphies either. Never have.

While I do know a few people who have Apple Watches I personally feel they are expensive toys. There, I said it.

Since the first day with the original Apple Watch. I'd always worn a watch, but I knew I'd never go back to a conventional watch once I had the original Apple Watch for just a day.

It's not that it's a "gadget" to be obsessed with. It just makes things easier for me. I can more easily see if messages, emails and notifications are ignorable or if I need to answer them right away, both for work and personal. A quick glance down is faster than pulling my phone out of my pocket and looking, especially if I'm in the middle of working on something. On top of that, the activity tracking has helped me to improve my overall fitness a bit. And when I'm home, I can drop my phone on the counter and I don't have to hunt it down (or always keep it with me) to answer phone calls, see who texted, etc.

It's not really a separate device, but I think of it like a second screen for my phone -- like a second display for my Mac, it's not required, but it helps me work better/smarter/faster.

Agreed! If they could bring the Ultra's brighter display and better battery life to the 41mm form factor, I'd be on my way to the Apple store right now!

It’s immediate. Without it, I see a tan line on my wrist and can feel the missing weight and added airflow.

But when I realized I was hooked was the first time the battery died during the day and I just couldn’t do some of the things I was used to. Check the time, sure, but it was more the lack of messages and walk-in talkie and calendar and task list that did it.

In my more reflective moments like these I hate how attached we are, my Apple Watch and I.

And yet here you are, in the AW forum :D

Deep down you know you want one.

even if I put on my beloved mechanical watch instead of the AW, I instantly miss the AW. Which p****s me off, I have to admit. But the AW became such an integral part of my daily life that it feels very strange to not wear it. I think it is the stickiest product that Apple ever made. Or that any gadget manufacturer ever made.

this reminds me that the ability to ping my phone from my watch has kept me from having to look all over the place when I misplace my phone. :D
I have to admit, I've never misplaced my iPhone in the house.

However, I believe there's a great feature when you accidentally leave your iPhone in your car, and your watch reminds you?

It's not like I do it every day, but every so often, I can't remember where I put it down, or it gets buried under other things.

I've never accidentally left my iPhone behind, but I've seen people on this forum say that the left behind feature takes a long time before it warns you, so that by the time it does warn you, it's quite a task to go back to retrieve your phone.

I once left my phone in the car. (I had it charging, and forgot it wasn't in my pocket.) I got about 500 feet when my watch reminded me that I didn't have my phone with me.

I also sometimes carry my iPad, but lock it in my car's trunk. The warning of "iPad left behind" is comparable in distance.

Stopped using all AWs about a year ago and while I missed the constant notification nonsense for a few days I’m not missing anything at this stage and am enjoying my conventional watches again.

Didn't get one until S3 and almost returned it the first week. It grew on me slowly but now I can't imagine not having one. Also, paying with Apple Pay via a watch is the best thing since sliced bread.
I had a very similar to my experience. My first AW was an S6 and I was very underwhelmed by it for the first few days and also considered returning it. In my case however it grew on me really quickly, maybe over the course of another week, and now I'm a total convert. As I got more and more used to using it for Apple Pay instead of getting my phone out of my pocket that was a big plus and as more and more messages and phone calls came in I became more aware of how nice it was to be able to glance at my wrist to see if something needed action rather than getting out my phone.

I also take calls on my phone because I'm one of those people who quite often - probably most of the time in fact - tends to leave my phone in a room other than the one I'm in when I'm at home so not having to run to another room to find my phone when a call comes in is probably one of the things I like most about my watch - maybe I'm a bit unusual there though, I know that a lot of people are never more than a few feet away from their phone.

100% me. Usually when I get home I put my phone down and rarely touch it until I leave again.

Being able to run without my phone, connecting to my AirPods, playing music, using my running app that gives me audible cues when I'm exercising, taking/making phone calls without my phone, keeping me motivated with daily goals, having it vibrate/make noise when a turn is coming up when I'm driving in case I'm not paying attention to my phone, and a bunch of other things I can't think of. I really love my Apple Watch and now I can't imagine being without it. I have the SE, which is my first watch, but I'll be upgrading soon as I need the always-on display during exercise. It's annoying to keep tapping it to get the screen to come on.
