My advice is that you don't need to replace the batt yet since it is below 3 yrs. but charge it back up when it is bellow 40-50%. You don't always hv to wait until it is 30% or less. I charge anytime when I'm not using my iphone, even at 70-80% I put it on charge. Also Less waiting time. And don't worry ur batt will not wear out faster.

Your battery is worse than mine now?

No, I'd never changed the battery yet in all my devices. By the time i feel it need to be changed, i sell or give it away and upgrade to the latest model.

720 cycles on my iP6 and battery wear level pretty obvious and i can tell. it hardly last until about 4-5pm. not sure if i want to get it done or just wait it out when the iP8 comes out. has anyone gotten it done at best buy? no apple store near me.

WOW that thing has to drop like a brick with heavy usage? lol.

i sometimes don't even realize. watching some vidoes on youtube at 50% then a few minutes later getting the 20% message pop-up. my phone died sunday after golfing using GPS when before i would go home with about 80% - it was down to low 40% and then shutoff on it's own (i didn't even get the battery logo to pop up). It just wouldn't turn on - even plugged in my truck. kept getting the apple logo screen then would turn off - then apple logo screen again - then turn off. did that about 10 times until i plugged it in at home. it's pretty horrible battery life right now.

So what will you do? Sell it or replace the battery?

i'll be keeping the phone as a backup for my and my wife as I've done previously. i honestly don't know - i want to change it but don't know if i should throw the money for it or just wait it out.

Wait for iphone 8 then lol

I had the battery replaced on my iPhone 5 when the screen decided it wanted to remove itself from the chassis. I noticed a bulge in the screen so that was my smoking gun for replacement. I never had any performance decreases though.

Then were there any mark on the screen?

I got lucky and had no screen damage or marks. Though I probably would have if I had let it get worse. Apparently there are cases of screen damage out there when people haven't had the battery replaced soon enough.

How bad was the battery performance when it almost damaged your screen?

The bulging screen was the only indicator to me that something was wrong. I noticed no significant battery performance decreases. Though after I had the battery replaced it did last a bit longer and charge better.

Had I not had the screen bulge I wouldn't have known anything was wrong.
