I ordered my custom 10 core on April 17th and Apple predicted a May 1 to 8 May delivery window. It was shipped standard delivery on April 24 and delivered 1 May. It would have been delivered April 26th (5 days earlier than predicted) but it was delayed by China for customs inspection.

Someone mentioned here recently that their's was delivered a week early.

The local Apple Store had a stock of the base iMP.

When I ordered my 18-core iMac Pro, shipping estimates were 14-17 days. It shipped 3 hours after I ordered it.

That's what I'm talking about!

I feel like I got really lucky. I speculate they had just finished a production run and my order was slated for the next production run, but then at the last minute, perhaps some people cancelled their orders and I got bumped up. This is all speculation of course.

Congratulations on (presumably) getting an iMac Pro!

I ordered 5 base iMPs from Apple's Amazon store when they matched BB's $1k price cut. One for me and 4 for my engineering firm. Ordered 5/1, delivered 5/4 at both locations.

If you are looking for a base model, the local Apple Store here currently has a stock of them, no line no waiting. Other stores may have them too.

Every store has base model. I'm getting the 10 core 64RAM. That's why I'm waiting. The only thing the order update status page shows is 'Your order will take longer to ship".

B & H has most permutations in stock (as well as skus with the mouse and trackpad).

Pros include instant shipping and no tax if you are not in NY. Con is no return if open box.

Between a sale at B&H and no tax I saved 1400.00

My took about a week to arrive after ordering through Apple Business back in February. I remember having very itchy fingers while waiting for it...

Ordered mine on the 3rd (at night), they started shipping it yesterday with an expected delivery on the 15th. Very excited!

Congrats guys! There are a few software teething issues (OS and T2 related) that I’m sure will be worked out in the months to come, but as for the sheer power of the iMac Pro, you’re going to love it!

Thanks! Really looking forward to it! Big step up from what I’m used to! What issues do you mean though?

The two most annoying ones seem to be that some will momentary wake from sleep once in awhile (waking up external displays) and that some legacy T2 devices don't play well through the TB3/TB2 adapter. There were a few reports of unpredictable fan behavior.

Mine, however, has been flawless so far. There are OS issues in general, however, that affect all machines including the iMac. The affect on your workflow depends on the suite of SW you are running and how far you are pushing the performance envelope.

So, now it says preparing to ship. Aargh. How long will it stay like this?
Should be really fast. Same day probably. You’re gonna love it!
[doublepost=1526422004][/doublepost]Mine came with 10.13.3. If you aren’t gonna use eGPUs right away I’d say keep it on that for the time being, from what I see on the forums 10.13.4 brings new firmware issues that won’t go away even if you downgrade. I haven’t taken the risk and will wait a bit more. Now to decide how much space I need for Windows.

Finally shipped! Yaaah! Apple says delivered on the 21st but UPS says the 18th so I'm gonna believe UPS. Isn't there a way to track the plane the shipment is on?
