iPod touch When do Best Buys' usually get their stock and...

QUESTION! lol
-Even though Best Buy says Backordered on their website. I've been hearing about people who have been getting it from Best Buy Pre-Order's already. And because they don't charge your card until they ship I was considering buying it from Best Buy as well.
They can race against Apple?

The other day I was in a Best Buy and noticed they had the new iPod nanos, but I didn't see the touch anywhere 
Odd question, but has anyone checked Wal-Mart? don't they carry apple products as well?

yeah...also what about circut city. seems odd that apple is only shipping to best buy
yeah. my store does the same thing.
they dont know when they get them in is what im guessing.
i think the truck just shows up with them and sometimes it'll have the touches and sometimes it wont. i just dont understand why some BB ARE getting them and some BB AREN'T getting them. doesnt make sense.
There's a few Circuit City's around my area that have touches. Check your local stores on their website.
I find the whole Best Buy corporation to be very unorganized bunch. Most of the employees don't know when they trucks arrive...
i bought mine at the best buy 1hr from me in topeka,kansas, i stay down in kansas city, kansas. i had a faulty week 37 screen. i just went to my local best buy (10 minutes away )instead of driving another hour back to topeka for a full refund. i thought they was gonna sweat me but boy was i wrong even though i have to wait 10 business days for a check in the mail i feel safe knowing i aint gonna be stuck with a defect. i wish i had one tho.
on a side note the guy at customer service best buy, dropped the touch 2x as he was so excited to see one as my local bestbuy has yet to recieve a shipment. they said they was gonna use mine as the display unit hahaha..

hahaha. thats pretty funny.
so there are other BB that arent getting them in.
i was feeling like i was the only one. there's a best buy about 2 hours away that has them in like every day(when i check the instore pickup)
but mine never has them.
tomorrow they better have them...

Fast selling, expensive stuff like Wii's and iPod touches are not sent with the truck, they are drop shipped via UPS/FedEx and we have no control over when/where/why they are coming. All of the stores have different trunk delivery times, and the employees at the stores really don't have a responsibility to know when they are coming in. The inventory team are the people that know when the truck comes in. Sometimes the schedule fluctuates, it's not always good to give the customer extra information when it turns out to be wrong in the long run. So please, don't assume anything!
Also- Sorry guys, I couldn't get the info tonight cause my gf's parents wanted to go out and eat dinner.

All I know is that my Best Buy better get that UPS/FedEx truck in the morning/tomorrow afternoon! Haha ... I want my iPod touch!

If you could find the info for the 8gb ipod touch for store #236 that would be great. thanks a lot.
What's amazing about those numbers is the scale of the stock. Even with hundreds and hundreds of Best Buy stores out there, it is still a miniscule amount compared with what they eventually will sell (ipods stock is measured in the millions, not around 1,000).
It demonstrates:
1.) How early the week 36 and week 37 models were, and that as the earliest models they were just getting a handle on their assembly line (perhaps weeding out bad models, but not doing so effectively).
2.) How people on this board really went out of their ways to get early models (or how people with early models came to this board). Even with Apple stores included, its in the low thousands of stock they have actually delivered into customers hands, and not too many more shipping probably.

i called my local Best Buy and they said they were getting 5 ipod touches on Tuesday..so im pretty sure that number is right.

Curious, if I just wanted to see the "web site" version of what's in stock...how do I do that? I can only see where you put the item in your basket and click "in store pickup", but that doesn't tell you if its actually available there, right?
