Anyone?

Why can't Apple let NVidia manage the graphics drivers. It's so frustrating that we have to suffer because of Apple's control paranoia.

Now we still lag behind the latest OpenGL.

Any hope?

I installed the latest CUDA 3.1.17, however how does that fix OSX's OpenGL issues as of now?

- Spaces is nearly unusable, super slow to drag.

- There's some issue with Safari where the whole screen becomes distorted/ artifacted if simultaneously using OpenGL program.

- VMware/ Parallels 3D performance dropped since 10.6.3 and i assume it's the same for games.

I really hope 10.6.5 is coming out ASAP and fixes these OpenGL issues.

Well, 10.6.5 does make Apple's OpenGL implementation a bit faster, but it is still OpenGL 2.1. They have 95% of OpenGL 3.0 support finished, but don't seem to want to switch from GLSL 1.2, so that is still the missing piece.

As for OGL 4.0, there really is no need. Only one card (the G400-series) supports the features of OGL 4 and there are zero apps that support it.
