Any ideas? A week after October 4? In line when iPhone 5 is available to buy?

And now begins the meaningless predictions...
Here comes one....The invite has arrows pointing to the 10 and 12 on the clock. I know this means the announcement is going to be at 10:00, but I saw another post mention that maybe that means it'll be released 10/12.

Well, if the released date for the new iPhone(s) is going to be October 14th, which is looking the most likely at the minute, iOS 5 will probably be out 2/3 days before then, that's what happened last year. So probably around October 11th, a week after the event.

I am almost positive GM builds don't require UUID registration. So if the GM is released the day of the event, that's when you could theoretically get it (once someone uploads it).

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8J2 Safari/6533.18.5)

OCT 11 or OCT 12

That would be cool, love to put iOS 5 on my iPad 1st Gen. I have it on my iPhone 4 Beta 7

I bet we will see the release about a week after the event. Release the GM on the day of the event and give devs about a week to get apps submitted that support 5.0 before it goes live.

Somewhere around two weeks after the event.

HA. How do you figure? The iPhone 5 will probably be out shortly before two weeks.

Yeah, this is what I'm thinking.

Let's take look back in time, shall we?

The iPhone 4 was presented on June 7.

iOS 4 was released on June 21.

iPhone 4 was released June 24.

Let's say Apple releases iOS 5 on October 14.

Number of days between the 4. and 14. = 10 days = somewhere around two weeks....

Let's hope its 14 oct or earlier then... have waited a very long time already, although the longer i wait, the more eager i am...

I wouldn't mind if they released iOS5 soon after the event. If they hold true to form, it would be around the 10th - assuming GM has gone to devs before event time. But then, who knows what Tim has up his sleeve?

Basically you can plan for 1-2 weeks from when the GM comes out because the GM is really for the devs to make sure their apps work with the final version, make any changes needed, and to get iOS5 supported versions submitted to Apple.

GM will be released to developers on the 4th. Public release will probably be a week after or so.

The GM is, I believe. With the actual iOS 5 public release sometime later. We probably won't see GM until the announcement because they have a few features that they'd like to share (I think Assistant being the main one) before releasing the GM.

Not a developer here, but I think that's how it works.
