When do you think invites will be sent out for the iPhone announcement?

I have a feeling if the new iPhone is going to be released in early-mid September, it will be announced by Steve at an event toward the end of August, which means the invites to that event should be going out rather soon, right?

I'm hoping we hear something within the next 2 weeks. How long before the September media event does Apple usually send invites out?

Last year, invites were sent out / received / reported about on August 25th for a September 1st.

In 2009, invites were sent out / received / reported about on August 31st for a September 9th event.

ALSO, in 2008, invites were sent out / received / reported about on September 2nd for a September 9th event.

Speculate.
