I remember there was a time with the iOS 7 betas where someone made a script that increased the build number and if the page said "Session has expired", it'd be taken as a correct link. It was a productive discussion and that ended up being the build number for the beta released that day.

But that didn't help with providing a release date as far as I can tell, nor has it really been used since or much in general (despite the potential usefulness?), right?

Well I presume it'd only be put on the server if a release was imminent. The person hasn't been on since July, unfortunately, so unless someone else who frequents the forums knows how to make a similar script, we won't be able to make use of it again.

Side note.....how did this thread get on the idiotic subject of how different parts of the world write their dates? Is this really news to people. Adapt and get over it. America isn't the only place on earth ya know.

The entire reason ISO dates were invented was to solve this problem and get rid of the ambiguity when writing dates.

The ISO date format makes sense. When you write a number, the most significant portion is on the left. It's the same with ISO dates; the year is the most significant part so it's on the left.

ISO dates also sort correctly without additional fiddling. They really are the answer to all the world's date-writing problems!

Now if I could only get the USA to switch to the metric system. It would be nirvana! :)

Metric system is superior.

Why after noon when the vast majority of time it's around 10 AM Pacific?

I am sure I will get corrected on this by those who write it down, but it seems that the last few have been released later than normal. (Time wise)

Much more often than not, in particular with beta releases (short of perhaps some sort of emergency break-fix type of beta update) it's generally around 10 AM Pacific.

You did pretty good.
Minus the timing part.
