When does Apple charge my credit card on a pre-order?

The threads regarding Next being unavailable online in NY were true. As a result, I upgraded using a 2 year upgrade. Since it was 3am and I could barely see my iPhone screen, I upgraded the line without an available upgrade. $808 is the charge, but only $405 was available on my CC and the app only allows one card.

The order went through, but I need to put the extra money on that card before they try to charge the full amount.

I'm putting my iPad Air 64GB on eBay today and I'm hoping I can pay the bill in time.

So how long do I have before Apple tries to charge the full amount?
