Does the trial start when the user signs up (whether that's next week or in 5 months), or is it free for three months starting June 30th?

I can only find this on https://www.apple.com/music/membership:

"Your free, three-month trial membership1"

1 Requires initial sign up. At the end of the trial period, the membership will automatically renew and payment method will be charged on a monthly basis until auto-renewal is turned off in account settings.
But that can still mean both.

It'll be when you sign up. It's just a trial, just like Spotify gives you 30 days after you sign up -- this will be 90 days after you sign up.

I'm signing up on the 30th anyway though - excited to try it out! 🙂

Have you happened across any official statement from Apple confirming this? The terms and conditions appear murky at best...at least for the moment...

Easy way to find out: someone who signs up today (July 1) should check their Subscriptions in their iTunes account and see what the trial end date is.

I'm guessing it'll be October 1.
