Other When does the Apple Store update for release date walk-in inventory?

I have a watch for October 5th delivery, and a second phone for in-store pickup at an Apple Store that’s farther away than my usual. If there’s a chance I can get walk-in inventory and order for pickup at the closer location, I’d do that and cancel the current orders.

What time should I check the website?

Or is this even a thing? Can you order on release day, or are they strictly for walk-in customers?

You should be able to walk in any time tomorrow and seek to purchase, even though you may have to wait in line a while.

Im doing what I did last year....

someone can correct me if I am wrong but they update the "stock" online around 6AM is local time.... So I will either reserve a phone early sat morning at my local apple store, or get in line an hour or two before they open and snag a phone (i only waited 1.5 hours the Sat after launch day last year and was able to get an X) The line was like 65% smaller than the day before

Well sure but that’s not what I was asking... I’m wondering if their website gets updated with in-store inventory and I can order it for pickup, so I can go to the store that’s closer to me. If they don’t have it, I won’t go, and I’ll go to the farther one where my pre-order is waiting.

Why Saturday? Are you saying the inventory won’t be updated until then, and the Friday stock is strictly for walk-in customers?

Yea, you should be able to do that although if I remember right, last year several stores had delays with displaying correct store inventory for part of the day last year.

Reserving a phone online to pickup tomorrow will be extremely hard. You will have better luck reserving for pickup sat (again I THINK they update stock online around 6 am)

Here in Austria it's 12:11 p.m. and still not available for store pickup. Perhaps not sufficient quantities available yet.

Walk in purchases will always depend on how many devices they were sent. They will get new shipments daily.

Guess I’ll just make the longer drive today. The closer store is half the distance but didn’t have it available at the time I ordered. Better than waiting 2 weeks like my watch I guess!
