    Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8H7 Safari/6533.18.5)

About when does the apple.com store norm go down and come back online for iMacs when, hopefully Tuesday, they come out.

Nearly all of the "silent" refreshes (without any real press conference) have the store go down in the morning for anywhere from two to four hours, with new models/pricing available by about 9 AM EST. You'll likely be able to order shortly after the store goes back up and they usually have the new models in-store soon after.

For releases with a press conference and same-day availability/ordering, the store would go down for a few hours beginning at the end of the conference. Example: the August 2007 iMac update with specs/information revealed at 1 PM EST.

A bit of a different scenario, but when Canadians were waiting for the iPhone4 release, the store went down at 3am and was back up at 6am for ordering.

It was a long night! But I had a ton of fun with other early risers on the forums drinking coffee and watching the sunrise.

For hardware it usually goes down between 6-7am eastern and then back up before 9am. But it's Apple so anything goes. It could go down a noon and back up at 2. You just have to keep watch.

My guess is early morning. Catch some Zzzzs now and wake up in a few hours.
