Since Apple stated the Edition will be limited in quantity, what will happen when they run out?

I'm sure they will run out far before the 2nd gen Watch is unveiled. I wonder if they will make some other Edition models when they run out of the initial offerings.

I think they said that to make them more desirable to the people who usually buy $10k+ watches. I really doubt that they would stop making them considering that they're machined.

They're obviously limited by the amount of gold on the planet, but I think if Apple were only planning on making a certain amount of them, they would have given us that number.

Did they state the limit? It could be 10 million.

Discontinue the Edition after one year so that it stays exclusive. Then a few years later when they change the case design, release a gold plated SS version. Capitalize on the pent up demand for gold, but retain the specialness of the first gen solid gold Edition. That would be ideal to me.

Pretty sure that just means they are only going to manufacture a few at a time. It's not a limited edition, it's just something they'll only manufacture like 1000 of each shipment or something.

Makes sense to me.
