I know that the Apple TV app has started rolling out to Samsung TVs, and that it was stated that Samsung was going to be the first to get it, but is there any info as to when it is expected to roll out to the Fire TV devices? I did some Googling but came up empty.

Might be the final nail in the head of the ATV as a device, price wise it would be a no brainer to just get a fire stick surely then...

No way. The opposite in fact.
iTunes is available on Windows - is that the end of Mac? Apple Music is available on Android - oh wow, is Apple stopping making the iPhone and iPad?

Of course not. If anything, it will increase Apple TV sales for the simple reason it will highlight the classy, reliable and professional experience that the Apple TV delivers. It delivers an impeccable experience for the Mac, iPhone and iTunes user.

Amazon products are cheap, cheaply built 'things' using very very 'basic' short lasting components. In reality, they are damn nasty from quite frankly a cheap 'pile them up high' distribution company. Period.

In comparison when you buy an Apple TV, you are buying a long term product. Apple invests in its exceptional tvOS, it is updated monthly, has the very best in user security - privacy and ultimately performance, reliability and long term use.
Everything is planned out beautiful from auto frame rate switching to 4K Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, Apple Home Sharing, UI design, beautiful screen savers, high quality 4K upscaler, choice of materials, high quality remote etc.

As an example, I've been using Apple TV for 8 years now and how many times has the iTunes Movies app crashed whilst we watch our weekly film? ZERO.

Just because there are cheap alternative out there that in reality do not give a nice experience does not mean that a high quality Apple product is doomed.

In life, there are cheap choices and high quality choices. Both exist and you decide. For me, the Apple TV as my only TV box is perfect and I for one would not allow an Amazon product to enter my house as I feel that they are of the lowest standard existing only for profit from any means possible.
