Apple just loves giving things names whether they need it or not. Did the MacBook Pro screen really need to be called the Liquid Retina XDR ProMotion mini-LED Display? Probably not. Does macOS 15 really need to be called macOS Sequoia? Again, no.

But that's the Apple Way™ .
