I was under the impression before that Apple was making it a big deal that in the (then) upcoming iOS 14, maps would show red light cameras and warn drivers about them. So far, I don’t see anything about this feature. Is Apple still going to make this happen, or did they abandon that feature? It would be nice to have red light camera warnings or, even one better, a route planning around where cameras are located.

And, that iOS 14 features page also has the standard disclaimer:
Features are subject to change. Some features, applications, and services may not be available in all regions or all languages.
Maps doesn't show red light cameras on my iPhone.
Are red light cameras actually available in Maps anywhere?

We live in NJ but travel a lot to NYC (where there is an ABUNDANCE of red light and especially the freaking speed cameras - don't get me started). But my understanding is the information about these cameras - even in Waze - is user generated. People tell the app that they just passed a camera and if enough people mention the same camera location, it will be added to the map. But realistically, it will be a while IMHO until Apple has the same number of users for this feature that Waze has and is able to build up their data base of camera locations. Might be a while.
