I still have Quicktime 7 in my dock because I use it for quick video editing and in general, I prefer it over Quicktime X any day of the week. Scrolling is more accurate and there are little annoying tweaks about X like the video stops playback if I scroll or it doesn't automatically play when I go into fullscreen. I haven't heard of any major updates to QTX since I got Snow Leopard. Does anyone know if there are plans in the works?

There's not going to be anything until at least Mac OS X 10.7 since it's all maintenance updates until then.

No way....we haven't even gotten a preview of what 10.7 has in store. I really wish Apple considered Pro users when developing QTX. I'm always amazed at how much I can do with QT Pro 7.

it wont fix all of your issues but if you install the preference pane secrets you can change some function in quicktime x. For instance autoplay movie on open which means it wont pause when you go to fullscreen.
