When is the embargo lifted?

Does anyone remember when the embargo for reviews was lifted for the new ipad and 4S, was it midnight wednesday? ie thur morning?
 
I checked the date for iPhone 4S reviews last year because I was interested, too. Last year, they were posted on Tuesday before the release, so hopefully tomorrow.
 
I can't wait whenever it is to see some real world reviews, in particular to CPU speed and battery life.

So Apple can control the news cycle. If everyone published their reviews during the weekend last week when they got the phone, it would have a much smaller impact. Releasing mid-week gives them much more press.

It is the same reason all product announcements happen on Tuesday's or Wednesday's.
 
Off topic, but isn't it an NDA? Embargo has nothing to do with iPhones unless they aren't allowed to be shipped into the country. Seems like the completely wrong word to me...

Probably not the best word, but usually what people use when dealing with something they can't review until a certain time.

Was it really Tuesday? I thought it was Wednesday night.

You could embargo information as well.
