When is the new iPhone available?

so recently i want to get me a iPhone 3GS but i thought I'll wait till when the new iphone is out.
so approx when will it be out? and is it worth it to wait for the new one?

1) do you need the 3GS for speed?
2) do you need more than 16GB?

if any of the above are yes, then just go for it 🙂

apple's iphone cycle has been around june/july release - but that can change. we just don't know..

Perhaps being a "Macrumors Newbie" they were not aware of the macrumors buyers guide as guidance?
It is clear from the title what they were asking, maybe next time you shouldn't open the thread or post if it bothers you so much. 😕

Anyways, to the OP:
The new iPhone 3GS just came out on June 8th. It's probably going to be the same iPhone until about next June as Apple seems to introduce a new iPhone once each yr with a possible room for same iPhone with just a bump in storage capacity. I'm not up to speed much on Solid State memory, but I think 64GB is still a touch expensive on 1 chip so I doubt a new iPhone will be released any time soon. If 32GB will last you at least a year, go for it. 🙂

but buyers guide time line is really misleading for the iPhone. It includes software updates, which all models have been able to receive.

I agree, the buyers guide is a little wonky. Logic would clearly dictate the next iPhone release will be summer of 2010.
