42mm Space Gray Sport
Week 16. (They built this thing last week?!)

That's kinda insane and would explain the low supply issues.

I just found today that if I go into the activity app on my iPhone I am able to see entries for days before I even had the watch. Not sure if these coincide with manufacturing dates for shipping dates or what, I just thought it was interesting and it might give some insight to this thread. Mine shows entries for April 14 and 15th, and one for April 23.

Week 15 for my 42 SS Classic Buckle

While I thought it was cool to know, why are we placing so much importance on this. I see it in every thread as if it means something.

Some perspective here...

Serial numbers are given before the watch goes into production...So you could be looking at a 3 to 5 week gap between assigned and actually produced...

Excellent point and question …

I noticed the same on my watch. It's a week 17 and there were two entries in the activity protocol from 5/25 and 5/26. Pretty sure those were the dates when it was actually produced/tested.

Yep, I stated this over on the space black thread. It's pretty apparent that the manufacture date is of the internal module. Pretty sure these are then selected at random to be placed into the watches. (If they randomize them across all models and a production problem is found, then it's not a single SKU that is identified as a "bad watch" - better from a PR standpoint).

What week your watch is assembled is anyone's guess - until someone does an interview with Apple to discuss manufacture time vs ship time, we won't know. I somehow doubt Apple's going to want anyone external to thoroughly understand their logistics (then we could blame them more) ;)
