Ordered at 3:40AM PST. i caved in and got some sleep after the apple store was still down at 1AM.
Reserved an iphone6 which is due here on the 19th. Ordered a 6+ and have a "3-4 week" ship date
Historically is the 3-4 weeks pretty spot on? Or is it simply an overly generous window of time? And by this i mean has anyone ever been given a 3-4 week ship date and received it way sooner?

Question - does anyone's order number in the Apple order confirmation email actually work and bring up the order info on apple.com?
I ordered my phone at 4am and then a case for it (from apple.com) at 7:30am. The case's emailed order number brings up the order details online and my credit card has already been precharged for the case's cost. Neither of these things is true for the phone order. Anyone else?

Maybe, I know people who ordered iPhone received them few days before the earliest estimate date. However, the last time I pre-ordered on Apple store was when the Retina MBP 1st came out, it arrived couple of days later than the 3 to 4 weeks time frame Apple give me.
I got f'd this time. Neither Apple's site nor the Apple Store app was up for me. Ordered two phones (6+ with 16 and 64) through AT&T. Order confirmation said 7-10 business days. Emails this morning say 21-28 business days. Oh well, I have no choice now. Sucks!
They all say that, I would expect it to be sooner. Who knows though, there was the rumor about production delays and Apple could have screwed up the mix (on what they thought people would order) like they did last time. Some people who ordered through Apple got in store pickup on the 19th. I'm guessing the Plus is going to be HARD to find in stores, especially the 128GB, which is what I ordered.

I got my order in on ATT 10 minutes early too. Not sure why it's kicked back so far??
Also, when I check the status is says "Preparing for shipment" but there is a VAR INTANG1 item line on my order that says "back ordered"

Thanks for your feedback! It's terrible I feel entitled -I wish I didn't, haha. I've had such buttery smooth preorder/launch day acquisitions these last years and this botched one (with the apple store down) is making me grouchy. Yes, yes, life goes on of course. But wow that was frustrating for me.
Ordered through Apple Store app on iPad at 3:45 AM Eastern. Had been checking and rechecking the site and apps since 3:00, grabbed it as soon as it let me.

Hopefully that's correct for the ship date since I was not able to get in at 3am I just went to bed and decided to order later, I ended up placing my order at around 7am. I'm fine even if it doesn't make it right on launch day, as long as I'll get it, it's no big deal.

I'm probably the only one here who cancelled the order because it would arrive to soon..(I'll hopefully be away) and ordered again when the date slipped...
Now I'm sure that my flight out will be cancelled due to the strike and I'll be banging my head on all the walls I can find !

I have the same. From what I have seen all the ATT Store orders for the Plus are giving a later date. I haven't seen any with a 9/19 date for a plus order from the ATT Store. Hopefully it's an exaggeration and we get them on release day. I ordered mine at 3:03 ET.

Here is the kicker - Shipping Date: 10/13/14 - 10/22/14
I am assuming they just did not make a lot of the 6+ with 16GB or that date range is a gross overestimate.
Also I am not sure if there is a major difference between Regular AT&T and Premier.
