When it will be available iphone x sim free ? in Apple Store is not available the Iphone x sim free, this annoys, remember when Apple released the iPhone 7 at the same time I launch the iphone 7 sim free, why now do not pass the same? ...is it true that in the Apple Store USA you can find the Iphone x sim free?

I’m assuming early next year...or probably won’t have one.

All iPhones that are paid for at full price are unlocked so that's why I question the need for a sim free phone.

That can’t be true. There are two models of iPhones, one that supports cdma (Verizon and sprint) and one that doesn’t. If you buy an at&t or t-mobile model, no amount of money or buying at full cost will enable the phone to work on verizon.

Currently the only options for people not on a major carrier (like me) are to order the T-Mobile model which doesn’t support Verizon, or to buy a Verizon model in store. It would be nice to have just a sim free model from the start that anyone can order, which pretty much every other country does...

If you purchase a Verizon model at full price from Apple directly would not the same thing be achieved?

I never said anything about which networks it would be compatible with. What I said had to do with if the phone is unlocked or not. Full priced iPhones are ALWAYS unlocked.

You have to buy at an Apple store in person. If you try to buy online, even full price, it asks for Verizon account info.

Ok thanks. I did not know this. I always get the Tmobile one.

For the iPhone 7 and 7+ it took a month for Apple to release the SIM free version in the US. I would expect a similar time line and I imagine it has to do with an exclusivity period the carriers have negotiated rather than supply and demand as the 7 (in particular the 7+ jet-black) was still very supply constrained when they started selling the SIM free version last year. But that is just my guess and anyones on here is just that too.

What's the benefit of a sim free iPhone?
The only benefit of a sim-free model is simply buy it without having to enter any carrier info at check out. Plus it comes with the sim eject tool, plus doesn't come with sim card. Plus it does not lock to your carrier. It's a different part number then the rest.

I'm patiently waiting for the Sim-Free Model to come. I know that for the 6S and 7, it was 4 weeks after the initial launch that the Sim-Free Model was available on apple.com so it's quite possible that the Sim-Free model for the iPhone X will show up 4 weeks after 11/3 or more. Likely in December.

You have alot of patience. I couldn't be bothered waiting a month for a sim eject tool if ordering a phone that I already know won't lock to a carrier and will work in my region.

Base on past experiences, the release of a sim-free version depends on how soon Apple is able to catch up with carrier orders. It is usually weeks or sometime months. In the event of iPhone 8, which supply is expected to meet demand immediately, the sim-free free is released along side with carrier version.

The sim-free version is model A1865 that uses Qualcomm MDM9655 modem, that has both CDMA and GSM bands. It is basically the same model as Verizon and Sprint iPhone without carrier lock.
