How will I differentiate between them? Or does it not matter when you activate? Meaning do you put your individual number in or does it come preloaded?

His iPhone 4S will have his name on the box, and yours will have your name on the box.

Well no, because they are both ordered on one account and will come to my house

The box will have your phone number on it. At least that's how my 3GS came.

I'm pretty sure all phones are the same out of the box and they aren't even tied to your account until you activate them in iTunes.

My mom would always buy my brother and I different colors so we wouldn't fight over each others toys. :p

So when setting up the new phone you input your own number? It doesn't matter which one you upgraded online through Apple? I'm just sort of confused since it will be difficult to tell which one is which, since we both ordered black to the same address, name, everything.

What if you both want black or both want white?

    Not uncommon at all

Not any more, 3GS came out a LONG time ago. Things have changed!

    That is correct.

Sounds like a plan. They will become YOUR phone when you activate them.

Well then she would have to write your initials in the back of each one with a sharpie.

Is this also true of Verizon iPhones? I used an alternate upgrade on one of my lines and thought I read that I'd actually have to activate it in the original line first, then activate that line's old phone back on it, then I could freely activate the iPhone on whatever line I wanted to.
