Based on past history, when would order dates begin and when would they be in stores?

1st gen 12.9” Pro was an anomaly as it was announced a few months before release

1st gen 9.7” Pro was 10 days between announcement and release

2nd gen Pros had 8 days between announcement and release

They don’t usually adhere to the Friday iPhone release schedule, since the Pros released on a Tuesday and then on a Thursday

I believe a safe bet would be around November 7th

Pretty soon after I would say. I reckon they might just say Friday. They need them in people's hands as soon as they can after release.

7th-9th is the safest bet. I would say Wednesday the 7th. They won’t do the 6th because of Election Day. 7th is a possibiliy as it is 8 days. 9th is 2 weeks until Black Friday. Either the 7th or 9th.

No they really don’t. That’s the beauty of apple. They could do pre orders that following Friday and put them in stores a week after that and folks will still run to buy like it’s the second coming.

I mean they announced their induction charging mat a year ago and folks are still clamoring to go buy it with no idea when it will come out other than 2018 which means Dec 31 would be valid

iPads models don’t usually hang around at a cheaper price after new ones come out like iPhones do, so iPads usually have an “order immediately, ship next week” schedule. At least, that’s what happened back in June 2017 with this last refresh.

I expect the same here.

I meant in the sense that when new ones come out sales of the existing ones all but come to a standstill. But you’re right about the unpredictability of Apple.
