I'm planning to get a new iMac before the end of March. I'm aware that there's a new model being released very shortly, but I'm wondering if it might be a good idea to purchase one of the current generation in order to avoid being screwed by apple due to the current UK to US exchange rate.

Already got shocked by Apple in November waiting for the new macbook to be released.. I expected it to be about £800 and it was £949... will the same thing happen with the new iMacs?

I'm looking at the 2.8ghz 24" model, will there really be enough new features to warrant paying maybe £2-300 more for the new one?

Get screwed paying with the exchange rate or pay too much for obsolete hardware....hmmm.

No matter what, wait until Jan. and buy from the refurb/clearance store.

If you need one in March, buy it in March. If you decide on the current generation, it will probably drop in price when the new ones come out.
