The reviews out this morning confirm - the 11 is the best model except for the screen. Next year, I will trade in my 11 Pro Max for the 11 OLED successor and keep it for years...

if the rumours are true and they go 5.4/6.1 I think 5.4 will be too small for me. So whatever the 6.1 is (hopefully the 11 replacement at a reasonable price).

I hope they haven't gone to $699 to give them a little wiggle room to put back to $749 next year by adding OLED. Keep at $699 please

When the ‘standard’ iPhone moves to OLED, has the same resolution screen as the Pro’s, has 3D Touch replaced in it’s entirety with Haptic Touch & has another GB of RAM.

Until then...

They would have to really differentiate the Pro models if the 11 models gets an OLED.

11 with OLED would blow the doors off the Pro models in sales.

Yup they're going OLED next year but the base model is not gonna have 5G so that's gonna be one difference right there. And I have a hunch it will have the same notch design while the Pros get the redesign.

Base model will have 5G. Difference will likely be PPI, ToF, Pencil, RAM, etc.

If and when the “base” model gets OLED, Apple will do more than enough to differentiate the Pro models. It’s one thing you can always count on Apple to do - price the options such that you always feel the need to go up at least one price level if not more. It’s one of many reasons Apple makes so much money.

Here’s one guess: the 11 successor stays at 64 gb for the base and the new pro gets 128 gb. Apple pricing 101.

I’ll actually be disappointed if they limit the base model, 6.1 is just too big for me, Ive had the 11 since Friday, and as fantastic as it is its jsut too big, the 5.8 is just the sweet spot, shame they will make you go smaller or bigger next year if true

I would assume something like:

dual vs triple camera
ToF 3D capable cameras
aluminium vs stainless construction
under screen Touch ID for Pros
colours/ design

would be enough material differentiation, the main thing is how Apple market them and control how people see them. You will always get the people who will pay through the nose for the 'premium' models to try and impress, there doesn't need to be a truly compelling reason to pay the extra, bragging rights are the biggest draw for an 11 Pro over an 11 already...

As long as they're selling iPhones I don't think it matters as much about ASP at this point because they seem to be betting big on services, and more iPhones in hands creates greater potential to sell you an apple music, TV+, iCloud, arcade etc subscription, plus accessories like cases, AirPods and Watch/ bands. Not to mention revenue from the App and iTunes stores.

Honestly don’t see OLED coming to the non-Pro iPhones anytime in the next few years. I could see 1080p LCD screen happening before OLED.

Does anyone thinK it could be possible that they keep the 5.4 and 6.7 inches as the pro models with the premium features and the 6.1 as normal, with the pro‘s being more expensive

That's the expected positioning for next year.

5.4" - small premium model for AR glasses tethering
6.1" - mainstream
6.7" - traditional premium phablet

I have an iPhone X and I compared the regular iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro side by side. I'm already quite good at detecting visual differences, but for the life of me, I can barely see any difference between the two displays. The Pro did have a tint of yellow for some reason, and dark areas were ever slightly more detailed, but I had to strain to notice the differences. Is it me or am I missing something? I couldn't even notice the difference in resolution.

It’s unfortunate that ppl think the 11 doesn’t have that good of a screen, it really does. I love mine and you really have to put an OLED display next to it for me to notice the difference.

Exactly. It wouldn’t make sense, plus the price would go up. I think what apple should do it up the resolution to 1080p and keep it LCD, that would make more sense imo
