I think the Watch will get upgraded every 2-3 years, the soonest we'll see the 2.0 version is at the end of 2016 and probably not for sale until 2017. Technology has evolved to the point where you're not going to get any dramatic improvement in performance, just a slimmer profile. From what I've see the Watch is pretty proportionate and doesn't need to be as thin as a quarter. Assuming they are in good condition, 1.0 Watches will resell fine.
