I upgraded from my 3GS got my 4S, stayed with AT&T.

I wonder what the ratio is when it come to Iphone subscribers for each carrier?

When I got my phone through reserve on Apple.com, walk in's for At&T were out of luck by 11:00 am that day. So happy I reserved mine the night before, rep said it was plenty phones for Verizon and Sprint that day for walk-ins.

At this point in time, I am going to pass. I'll see how things develop, but I like my 4 and don't see the 4s as enough of an upgrade to justify buying one- even though I DO love the fact that there is a 64 gig 4s now.
I did the same thing with the 3g-3s migration and wasn't disappointed at NOT upgrading.
Having said that, if the speed issue becomes significant, I'll definitely consider it.

I upgraded from iphone4 to 4s. I loved my 4, and now I love my 4s.
Very happy with the upgrade. I have not experienced any of the battery or other problems that people are complaining about.

I was very disappointed that the iPhone 4 didn't go 4", so I kept my 3gs.. until a week ago. Got a used iPhone 4 off ebay. I was doubly disappointed the "4S" is exactly the same phone as the 4 (as far as I'm concerned), and Siri is a joke (again, as far as I'm concerned) so no way would I get it being a 4S mid-cycle phone. Apple won't be getting my money this time around.

The 4 will do me just fine until the real iPhone 5 comes out.

Am not getting one, because the improvements are not enough. Come June/October 2012 (inshallah), I'll have so many great options and I wanna choose the best phone possible. Might be time to truly consider something besides iOS.

I upgraded from the 3GS to the 4s. Staying with T-Mobile. Love my new iPhone 4s. Walked into the Apple store on Sunday following launch walked out 10 minutes later with my unlocked 32gb AT&T phone, as did my daughter. Gave hubby my old 3Gs and he sold his 3G 16gb for $120 to a buddy. We're all happy.

Well first I had an iPhone 4 (AT&T), switched to Sprint for the 4S (joined parents, trying to save money). We all know now how the Sprint 4S is, and I switched back to AT&T.

No iPhone 4S in stock  and I chose to buy a Galaxy S II.

No comments why people prefer AT&T?

HSPDA/HSPA+ speeds routinely give 2x to 5x the speed of Verizon or Sprint, even on V/S's best days. Also AT&T gives simultaneous voice/data, which personally I don't find a big deal on the phone itself but it's great with tethering.

AT&T's rates are generally a little better than Verizon's, and some nice features like family plan unlimited text + unlimited calls to any carrier's mobile for $30 (covers all phones on the plan).

The way I see it, Verizon has overall the best coverage area. If everything else were equal, then Verizon would be the only logical carrier to use. Of course it's not all equal.

AT&T has better rates than Verizon, and with iPhone specifically AT&T offers better performance & features. AT&T's coverage area is "very good" - while there are some who choose Verizon because they don't get a good AT&T signal where they live, in terms of percentages it's a small number of users. The price & particularly performance are significantly better on AT&T vs. Verizon, so that accounts for the bulk of iPhone users choosing AT&T.

Sprint has unlimited data, but slow (same technology as Verizon, but in practice seems to be a lot slower than Verizon). They also have a significantly smaller coverage footprint than the others. People who are within that footprint, though, and whose budget is more important than performance, will be the ones that would consider Sprint.
