I'm wanting to get a MBP really soon, but I'm not sure if I should wait until an update. Although, it did have a spec bump in the spring I'm wanting to get a 15" MBP. Thoughts? Much appreciated.

According to the Buyer's Guide the MBP is approaching the end of a product cycle.

However as always- if you need one now and/or you don't actually need anything better than what's available, the differences between the current model and any upgrade will be minimal. iTunes and facebook aren't exactly demanding.

There could be a minor update, for example the 2.66 i7 could be bumped up to 2.8. However, the big one for Sandy Bridge will be next year.

This is the first I've heard of "sandy bridge." is it just a 2nd Gen intel i3/i5/i7?

I think they will finally adopt USB 3.0 with the new MBP's. Probably a CPU speed increase and HDD space increase.
