I'm wanting to get a MBP really soon, but I'm not sure if I should wait until an update. Although, it did have a spec bump in the spring I'm wanting to get a 15" MBP. Thoughts? Much appreciated.

Only upgrade likely is Sandy Bridge but that's not until spring 2011. There are already numerous threads about upgrades in these forums. try searching via mroogle.

According to the Buyer's Guide the MBP is approaching the end of a product cycle.
However as always- if you need one now and/or you don't actually need anything better than what's available, the differences between the current model and any upgrade will be minimal. iTunes and facebook aren't exactly demanding.

There could be a minor update, for example the 2.66 i7 could be bumped up to 2.8. However, the big one for Sandy Bridge will be next year.
