Hey everyone,

Anyone have a clue as to when some new deals for the 2005FPW will show up? Right now its selling for $500 bucks...I've seen them WAY cheeper though before. How long should I wait before buying one for the holidays?

Thanks
Sean

Not sure when, but if you click the fine print on those ads they'll ususally tell you when it expires. Within a few days of expiring I'd expect a new sale. other than that, 25% off is common, which lowers the price to about $434. Anything lower than that is once in a blue moon.

According to the Dell Rumors, it looks like they may be revamping their LCD lineup. The new 30" should drop before the new year and new 20" and 24" could also be on the way.

But I would buy the 20" anytime it goes under $400, I have one and it is outstanding.

I'm hoping to get this in time for the holidays though...

Is it worth it to always live in debt for the sake of "holidays"?

Without debt everyday is a holiday, just look at Steve, or Bill, when was the last time you saw him waking up at 8am getting ready to go to work?

Keep your eyes peeled on "deals" sites. I picked up a 2005 20" WS Dell last week for only $347 after taxes. That's a heck of a deal, impending updates or not. 🙂

Well, its more on the lines of that I want one for Hanukkah so this is my only chance for the rest of the year. 😉

Dell's 30" will add HDCP (and possibly HDMI). In addition, Windows Vista will require HDMI and/or DVI+HDCP for playing certain video with DRM. And finally, Blu-Ray, HD DVD, and PS3 will use HDMI for high def digital video output.

Adding it all up, I think Dell will add HDCP and/or HDMI to its entire wide LCD monitor line-up.

As great as all that sounds, I need to buy this before the holidays start. Do you think the price will go down in the next week or two of the 2005FPW?

I don't need HDMI....I am not going to run Windows Vista, and as student, it will be awhile before I adopt the new optical standards. I've never liked games, so the PS3 isn't a big deal.

I think the best price to date is $339, but if you need it and can't wait, I would buy it anytime you can find it for under $400. +/- $50 should not stop you from buying this outstanding LCD.

I got mine a few months ago for $394 shipped. Just keep checking the websites like www.dealcatcher.com and others for their stackable coupons and rebates. I'm sure another round of deals will be coming up soon before the holidays.

Just got mine for $340 and I set it up last night... its NOICE!!!! WoW looks amazing on it....

I tried Span Doctor and it dual monitored okay with the Ibook.. but the rez sux.. is there anyway you can get higher resolution?
