You can easily speed up your laptop by reformatting the hard drive and then installing the OS and updated versions of all the applications that you need have have licenses for. That will get a ride of the extraneous old code that the new applications need and need to ignore. If you have system enhancement applications or extensions the process will dispose of them which are often culprits of system slow downs.

Well, what kind of friend would I be recommending overpriced, out of date products? And what a patronising friend I would be if I did, suggesting that 'it'll do for your needs'. If someone asks me, I don't advise them depending on my 'wants', but I do try and lay out the pros and cons, and let them decide.

Delay purchasing as much as you can. If you have an existing computer that meets your needs then don't buy a new machine. Saving is not a crime especially if Tim is going to park the profits overseas and not pay taxes. Those taxes are needed to fund infrastructure that he, his fellow executives, and his employees benefit from. Many of those employees have directly benefited from reduced costs of education, vaccines that received research funds from the NIH that have keep their families healthier. And of course those taxes fund the US Patent office that Apple uses so often.
