In the past, how soon before a MBP release have we seen Rumors with some cred that turned out to be right. Based on that, if the new models at released in April, when will some credible dirt start appearing? I watched the iPod touch 4g Rumors pretty close and no one really knew until the official event, but accurate predictions and Rumors started poppIng up 2-4 weeks before it.

Rumors will start 2-4 weeks before an announcement from Apple. But nobody will really know before the official event. Look at that... you just answered your own question.
Lol. So true! Thanks for chiming in anyway. I remember the anticipation and how it built over the 4g touch, and here we go again. I know it's months away, but that didn't stop anyone from speculating till their fingers bled all over on their keyboards in the middle July when no announcement was expected until September.

There may or may not be a spike in rumors. The announcement will or will not come. Then, you will or will not have a new Apple device. Or not. Or so.
Nobody knows on this or any other forum. All rumors are... rumors. They are easy to start and difficult to prove or substantiate.
My suggestion: Wait. Just like everyone. Or start a rumor.

By "event" I meant the day there are new Apple products. I certainly don't know how Apple prepares to unveil them.
I am hoping for feb release so hope rumor will start soon.
BUT, since I see more and more ipad 2 rumors starting(case popping up and etc), I am thinking that ipad 2 will come before mbp.
I really hope for

june -- iphone 5

Your asking the same question every other thread asks... You want to know when the 2011 mbp is coming out because if you ask how soon the good rumors come out...say 2 weeks before then you know when a good rumor comes out it will be 2 weeks.
SAME QUESTION AS EVERY OTHER THREAD, last time I checked there were atleast 5-6 on the first page of this forum alone asking about it. You will know about the MBP when Steve says "Here is new Macbook Pro".
I know a guy who is friends with a person that used to work for Steve's Landscaper. (This landscaper invented the iShovel and Steve was really impressed with how snappy it was at tilling the soil).

The question "how long before a release does one usually see credible rumors surface, based on past years?", could prompt an answer such as "2-4 weeks". One could even add some useful historical information, such as, "last year, Joseph Shmo from the XYZ blog said the 13" would have Core2Duo again, and they were right". In neither of those answers is any hint of a release date or time, nor can one deduct a release date or time from those answers. Nor is the original question even designed to secretly extract a release date prediction from the answerer, as sneaky as you seem to think I'm trying to be. lol.

This thread is getting heavier than it should have been, but I'll keep playing.
You only know a release if the accurate rumor time is given in the form of a absolute date, thus defining X. If it's given in a relative form like X-2, or X-4, X being the actual date, and the -2 or -4 representing either 2 weeks before or 4 weeks before, you still don't know X!
