When to go to bed to prepare for my first night shift?

    I have worked straights days of 7 am to 7 pm and work till 7 pm, but tomorrow I go in at 7 pm. So I would go to bed at 7 am wednesday and sleep till 3 pm on wednesday?

    I think it depends on the person but I've always found that NOT going to bed before my first night shift is the best way to prepare myself for a set of night shifts. I don't know what your shift pattern is like, or if you're even working a pattern, but if it were me I'd just go to bed as normal after finishing days, get up on the morning of your first night shift and then stay awake right through until the end of the night shift.

    I know people who work 8:30p-7:30a and they sleep from 11-6ish
