Folks in big cities, when do you go to join the lines to get the X? Midnight or earlier?

At least 2 days ago. You'll be too late if you want a launch day phone if you are not already waiting in line. But who knows, if you live in a rural area, your chances are much higher than bigger citties.

I’m in NYC and I’m like 4th in this line right now. We’re talking to Apple employees. They said after around 200 people in line theyll have problems.

Edit: these Apple employees are awesome. And they’re confident that they’ll make everyone happy here.

You said 2 things. The 200 people will be happy, and there will be problems after 200 people, meaning no stock, or crowd control?

I was going to say "you must be new here", but your title says otherwise. I would honestly maybe wait it out, walk into a store at another date and they might have a few in stock.
He may have never HAD to wait in line.

I hated those days right up until the moment I opened that box for the first several iphones.
