iPhone 13 Pro Max When to pay off the old phone

I was going to trade in my 13 pro max 256 to t mobile but I assume I can sell it for more than the quoted 545 trade in. Is there a period of time I have to wait to pay it off or can I sell my phone this weekend and just pay it off?
